Hello, Libra Season!

22/09/2024 | Denise Houser

It’s Libra season! This cardinal air sign begins on the fall equinox, ushering in a new season and a totally new vibe—one that is about art, community, mediation and true sparkle. This is our second year here at Houser diving deeply into astrology, one of our passions. We love astrology for the ways in which it is a tool for understanding relationships, individual pursuits, and as a multifaceted way to connect with the more mysterious parts of the universe. We alway encourage folks to take what they like and leave the rest: astrology can be a serious study or a creative, playful way to interpret our lives and the greater world around us. Libra Is especially fun in the context of jewelry and adornment, because these aesthetic air signs are masters at celebrating style and beauty. Virgo season was about perfectionism, and Libra season brings about a time in which we can focus on enjoying our lives, not organizing them. This season encourages you to nurture your relationships, negotiate and mediate through conflicts to bring about more peace and justice, and to put harmony at the top of your list.

Like all air signs, Libra is witty, communicative and charismatic. They are the true aesthetes of the zodiac; often compared to sparkling jewels. Libra can navigate any social situation, and have an uncanny ability(and desire) to resolve conflicts; This sleek charm is balanced—literally—by a fixation on harmony. If Virgo is all about finding the right solution, then Libra is about finding what will make the most people as happy as possible. This sign finds true joy in high art, intellectualism and connoisseurship: Libras will only be truly at home in an environment that reflects their unique taste, and is filled with things they find engaging and beautiful. However, Libras will always do what they think is fair. They try to look at the world as clearly as possible, with little to no favoritism.

Libra season is represented by the scales (interestingly, the only inanimate object in the zodiac) which symbolizes their commitment to justice, balance and diplomacy. They are driven by a deep desire to balance everything around them—in design, in relationships, in the world. If you are someone who is usually stubborn or driven by unshakeable opinions, this season might have you reconsidering what you had previously thought, and seeing things with clear eyes. This is a time to be deliberate, to look at things from every side, and to consider all of the evidence before reaching a conclusion. This broad-minded openness lends to Libras singular ability to negotiate and restore social balance; to be fair to everyone around them. Sometimes this attitude can come across as frustratingly noncommittal or vague. Libras have a reputation for being conflict-averse, wishy-washy and sometimes painfully indecisive. It’s important for Libras  to not people please, and to trust their own intuition instead of external sources. During this season, it might feel difficult to make big decisions, but it’ll be easier to compromise and forgive. This is a time to restore and balance. Libra teaches us the power in diplomacy, and to not get too preoccupied with potential outcomes.

Libra season reminds us to value relationships, and motivates us to nurture them. Libra’s opposite sign Aries represents ME, while Libra represents WE. Community and relationships are paramount for this air sign. Libras love to set a scene(often around aesthetic, creative, or political interests)l to gather people around them. Libras go out of their way to preempt conflict, and are the natural peacemakers and mediators of a group. This is the time to reach out to friends, and to really do the work of connecting. It’ll come back to you ten-fold, especially if you listen to your loved ones without judgement—one of Libra’s specialties. Libra season also amplifies our understanding of the injustices of the world. There are imbalances to be addressed in our private lives but also in our larger universe. Now is the time to consider them with the same care we consider the power of connection and understanding.

The magic of Libra season though, is that we’re reminded that all of this is really not all that heavy or deep. This sign is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty and romance. This makes Libras one of the best at flirting, charming everyone around them, and being beacons of style. This sign knows that outward appearances aren’t meaningless, but don’t have to mean everything. If things have felt dull or colorless recently, this is the perfect time to make what you can beautiful. Buy fresh flowers, get the haircut you’ve been wanting, treat yourself to a piece of jewelry. Sometimes the solution to sadness or difficulty can be in the aesthetic—what we find interesting or beautiful can lift our spirits. This season is when the things that have felt impossible can be solved by a generous spirit, by the joy in the beautiful, and with a firm belief in that justice still matters. Shop our Libra season collection to get diplomatic, charismatic and aesthetic, just like this sparkly air sign.
