Welcome Virgo Season!

22/08/2024 | Denise Houser

Virgo season is during a transitional time: the kids are back to school, there’s the first light chill in the air, and summer is winding down. Virgo takes us from the sizzling dog days of deep summer into the crisp, go-getter attitude of fall. After a month in fiery, vivacious Leo, this season helps us to ground, deepen, and analyze our material world and the systems which make it—we’re ready to put the theatrics aside, and focus on finding the magic in the details. Virgo season is when we can find solutions to impossible problems, and get inspired by the tangible world and the moment. Now is the time to take yourself, your life and the world around you seriously, like thoughtful and diligent Virgo.

Virgo, like all earth signs, is defined by a deep connection to the body and the tangible world, with an innate practicality and capacity for hard work. In Virgo this earthy physicality is paired with a razor-sharp intellectual streak; making them methodical, committed, and amazingly detail oriented. This is a sign that notices what others miss—they are dazzling, creative problem solvers and critical thinkers. Virgo excels at what they put their minds to, particularly complex tasks that hinge on high-quality work, like writing a symphony or the latest scientific breakthrough. They are observant, analytical, and whip-smart. Virgo is often stereotyped as  overcritical and exacting—which has some truth to it! Virgo cares deeply about getting things done, and getting them done right. Being meticulous and detail-oriented can be frustrating for those who are more big-picture oriented and less logical, but it gets real results. This makes Virgo season an amazing time to get organized, set realistic goals; clean out your closet, go through all your old files, and finish outlining the first draft of your novel. Because Virgo is connected to the body, Virgo season is also primed for making doctor’s appointments, getting the sleep we need, eating food that makes us strong—thinking about how we can really treat ourselves right, in order to be the best version of ourselves we can.

More than anything, Virgo is all about analyzing the various systems of the world. Unlike most signs, Virgo is not represented by an animal, but by a harvest maiden with wheat. The maiden is thought to represent Virgo’s ability to nurture, bring things to fruition, and process raw information. This earthy, dedicated processing motivates Virgo. They are intrigued by intelligent systems, and attuned to the small things that make up a whole. The way things work—on physical, emotional, and spiritual planes—is crucial to Virgo’s intellectual process. This makes them remarkably adept at finding solutions for broken systems, finding long-lasting solutions, and getting rid of what doesn’t serve. Virgo season, then, is not only a time to get things done, but to really consider how and why we do the things we do. Interrogating and examining systems—on a personal or global scale—is a fundamental part of realizing the vision we have for our lives. This is a season where it feels possible to find the perfect routine that keeps us both grounded and inspired.

During Virgo season we may struggle with perfectionism and overthinking, as well as feeling stifled by mundane tasks and practical concerns. Virgo is never finished perfecting whatever they are focused on, and often turn their critical ways inward when overwhelmed, which can lead to self-sabotage and self-loathing. It’s important to remember the beauty in imperfections, and that flaws are not defects. Virgo is ready and willing to help and serve, and all of that energy can be turned outward and in service to something greater. This season it’s also important to remember that sometimes we have to focus on the small, mundane things; the day to day. Everyday realities make up our big sparkly dreams, and help us get where we want to go. Staying grounded and logical doesn’t have to be boring or uncreative!

The nature of Virgo is very well summed up by the back-to-school feeling of this season. This is a time to buy new notebooks and pens and planners and engage thoughtfully, intellectually, with what is around us. Get inspired by all the information and knowledge there is at our fingertips!. This season encourages us to love to learn like a Virgo—to have intellectually-stimulating conversations, to explore different methods of self-expression, and to not ignore the harsher realities.  We can fix what is broken, and rewrite rules. Like Virgo, this season is made for discovering who we are and how things work, while examining and reworking the systems of the world. Shop our Virgo season collection to get organized, motivated and dedicated, just like this thoughtful earth sign.
