The artwork in this scarf was painted collaboratively in a curriculum based on the work of Odili Donald Odita.

The learners are 14 years old from the Hangberg community in Hout Bay, South Africa.  Tercia is a leader among her peers, she is extremely creative and has a keen sense of design.  Eve has a big, bold and lively personality, a true social butterfly.  Amy on the other hand is quiet and conscientious.  Tarah is a well mannered, intelligent, creative young girl, who is highly respected among her class members.  These learners are all in Grade 8.

By linking the arts to academics and life-skills, Lalela provides students with the tools necessary to re-imagine the future and achieve their dreams.

With your purchase of this scarf you help make these dreams come true.

Thank you.
